These dentists out here won't tell you the truth, but I will. PULL THE TRUTH and let your body heal. Two surgeries and $1800 later, I'm still experiencing the same pain I initially came in with. The endodontist suggested that I see a neurologist and try drugs like gabapentin because there's nothing more they can do. I pray this review saves someone's life and wakes you all up to how serious this procedure really is. We go through life thinking our doctors know best because they are educated and want to help us maintain good oral health. However, they're just humans limited by what they've been told. I recommend that anyone on the fence watch the documentary "Root Cause." It's free on Tubi and in the library's Hoopla catalog. Every tooth is important and SHOULDN'T BE LEFT IN YOUR BODY AFTER a RC has been done. I know whoever is reading this is in pain and searching for relief. You might think this place can help after reading all of the glowing reviews, but I urge you to do your diligence before pursuing any further help—not just at this location, but any dental office. I'm learning that dental care is a business trying to sell you something. They're not here to help you maintain oral hygiene or heal; they want to sell you a procedure using scare tactics. If you go into any office uneducated about what's happening, they'll sell you a life-altering procedure. I still can't believe I let this doctor take advantage of me when I was in pain and couldn't think straight. But God can use my mistakes to help others. 🙏 If you have the choice between a root canal and pulling the tooth, please choose to pull the tooth and let your body heal. The dental system in America is broken, and these medical offices are one-trick ponies. This doctor is no different. I think he's even more dangerous because his staff is so friendly, and he has excellent bedside manners and works well with patients who have dental anxiety. Don't let these doctors dictate where your pain comes from—only you know your body, and they won't be there to help if something goes wrong. A root canal isn't a minor thing—research it and ensure you've exhausted all options before letting this doctor "upsell" you on another root canal on a tooth you didn't come in for. This happened to me, and I don't want anyone else to experience the same regret. My anxiety is very high and I feel awful and now I have to drag my sick self to work to pay off the sickness I put on myself by not researching before agreeing to anything. The Good: - Clean office - Friendly staff - Non-invasive techniques - Friendly doctor with good bedside manners who works well with dental anxiety patients The Bad: - The technique used to retreat a root canal completely destroys your crown. They don't tell you this until you're in the chair. Unlike other techniques that remove the crown, perform the work, and then replace it, saving you thousands, this place pokes holes in the crown and applies a temporary seal. So you'll have to return to your dentist in two weeks and pay for another crown. - The office schedules follow-ups callbacks too early when you're still on pain meds and can't get proper help if problems do persist. - It's hard to reach a live person because all calls go through an appointment call center, requiring multiple messages before anyone responds. - The dentist uses charm to dismiss concerns and avoid potential lawsuits instead of providing resources for patients if the procedure is unsuccessful. - They don't prescribe antibiotics after the procedure, only recommending that you take a lot of ibuprofen.

Bay Area Endodontics was spectacular for my root canal operation. I called in on a Wednesday and Karla was able to arrange for me an appointment within the same week -- the speediness amazed me, as I was furthermore booked for both the consultation and operation on the same day. Due to my breathing difficulty conditions, it is extremely daunting for me to have to sit in supine position for an hour. (Case in point, the previous endodontist I consulted was unable to complete the operation.) Here, the dental assistant for my procedure, Ina, went out of her way to help me stay comfortable (pillows and blankets and ensuring my body can sit as upright as possible), removing a huge portion of the mental stress on my part. Lastly, Doctor Victor Peritore was exceptionally patient and professional. We walked through a couple of options before deciding to go head without sedation. Dr. Peritore's swift movements and timely announcement of every step of the operation instilled a huge degree of confidence in me as the patient. It's been more than a week since my root canal operation and the tooth in question is no longer acting up. Extremely impressed and would recommend Bay Area Endontics to everyone I know!
