Big shout out to Dr. Sohn, Nancy and Claudia for getting the job done. No dental issue after the procedure and was able to focus on a sporting event days later with winning results.

On June 9, 2025 I was referred to Dr. Peritore at the Sunnyvale office of Bay Area Endodontics. I had a very difficult experience and bad outcome during and after this visit. First, the clinical support staff were unprofessional and cold. When I questioned why I needed additional xrays, the technician brusquely mumbled a few words that I couldn't understand and I had to ask her to repeat. The dental assistant ignored my expressing being cold in the office, and I had to request a blanket. The reason for the referral was for emergent dental work since I was leaving town, and Dr. Peritore initially did not offer me treatment, only evaluation. When I told him that the referral was for evaluation and emergent treatment, he appeared annoyed but proceeded with the treatment. I was anesthetized in the cheek and gums. He discovered that my tooth needed to be extracted and appropriately finished his work. As I got out of the chair, I felt agitated and confused. My husband had to deal with payment and insurance issues because I could not focus. In the waiting room my husband noticed my agitation and that my cheek was significantly swollen, which was new, and that my right eye was watering, red, and that I was unable to blink. Once in the car, I realized that I could not move the right side of my face. My husband, who is a physician, diagnosed facial nerve paralysis, and my confusion was likely caused by rapid uptake of local anesthetic from damage to the blood vessels associated with the facial nerve. Without asking about drug allergies, I was prescribed amoxicillin to which I am allergic. Once home with persistent facial paralysis, we called the office twice and followed the instructions for after-hour care and were unable to leave a message because the system disconnected each time. My paralysis resolved over 12 hours and luckily I was not left with a deficit, but my cheek was bruised for a week. From the beginning of my interaction with this office, I did not feel a commitment to providing compassionate care. I also felt that Dr. Peritore's irritation with my asking for care led to a rushed and careless injection of local anesthetic. In sum, this was an extremely stressful and unsatisfying experience, and I would strongly suggest that you seek care elsewhere.

Two months ago I was attended by Ina and Karla, they were the kind and informative. They reassured me of the root canal process and answered any and every question I had. Thank you ladies!

Staff members were friendly and very capable. The doctor visit was similarly warm & caring, while being professionally efficient in isolating and diagnosing my actual ailment. The explanation of options and potential results or consequences was thorough and addressed most of my questions without the need to ask. My questions were treated as important and given thoughtful responses. Sensing that I was contending with significant pain, the doctor provided me with in-office relief before scheduling treatment and concluding our consultation. So far, their services have been commendable.
